Journos seek govt permission for providing reliefs to Rohingya refugees

A human chain was formed at Chittagong court building Shahid Minar square on Wednesday afternoon duly presided by K.M.Ali Hasan, Chittagong district president of Jatiya Sangbadik Sangstha demanding permission to distribute the non-govt relief materials to the Rohingya refugees .
 Among others, Prof. Md. Musa Kalimullah of Islamia College, columnist Mahmudul Hoque Ansari, vice president of JSS, Ctg unit Rezaul Karim, Adv Nurul Alam, Adv Rahimullah, Adv Shahedul Alam Saimon, Adv Abu Taher, Adv Nurusafa, Journalist SM Jamaluddin, Nazimuddin and Sarwar Hossain chowdhury were present in the human chain.
After termination of human chain, a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister handed over to Additional Divisional commissioner (General) by the leaders of the JSS.
The memorandum demanded to allow permission to distribute the non-govt relief materials to the hapless Rohingya refugees took shelter in different parts of Chittagong and Cox’sBazar.
The speakers in the human chain and protest rally at court building square said about 60 thousand Rohingya Muslims took shelter in different areas of Cox’sBazar and they are passing days miserably including acute food crisis, lack of medicare service and lack of winter clothes and these Rohingya refuges are passing days under open sky and have no camps as yet. The human chain was told that few non-govt organizations are trying to help these hapless Rohingya refugees through providing reliefs but the local govt administration are not allowin g them to distribute the reliefs despite permission of the ministry.
The speakers further said some affluent persons and non-govt bodies sent reliefs to Teknaf, ukia but the local administration are not allowing to distribute rather returning them . The speakers in the human chain bitterly condemned the Cox’sBazar district and Ukia, Teknaf Upazila administration , police, BGB for obstructing the relief distribution .
The human chain also asked the OIC, UN, ASEAN and SAARC including international human rights organization s to make arrangement the safe home and shelter of the Rohingya Muslims in their motherland Myanmar immediately. Aimed at safe living and shelter of the Rohingya refugees in their motherland, a memorandum has been submitted to Prime Minister , sources said.
