Railway Minister M Mujibul Haque on Tuesday said journalist community has been playing a vital role to ensure success of the country and welfare of the people as well.
“Journalists are conscience of the nation,” he said while addressing as the chief guest at an annual general meeting of “Dhaka Sangbadik Paribar Bahumukhi Samobaya Samity” at Jatiya Press Club in the city.
The minister said Journalists are working relentlessly for the nation without any kind of demand. The contribution of journalists for the nation is very laudable, he said and adding that the community is highlighting all social issues on behalf of the deprived people.
Among others, Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Omar Faruque and General Secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Sohel Haider Chowdhury spoke on the occasion with President of the samity Tarun Tapan Chakrabarty in the chair.
