UNB, Gazipur :After 10 months into his arrest, BNP chairperson’s adviser and journalist leader Shawkat Mahmud was released from jail on bail on Wednesday.He walked out of Kashimpur Central Jail Part-2 in the afternoon after his release order reached the jail authorities, said Proshanto Kumar Banik, jail super of the jail part.On June 14, the High Court granted bail to Shawkat Mahmud in two cases filed against him for his involvement in subversive activities.On August 18, 2015, police arrested the journalist leader from Panthapath area of the capital.
