Mezbahuzzaman, a senior journalist and permanent member of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC), died of old-age complications at his Senpara Parbata residence in the city on Thursday morning. According to a JPC press release, Mezbahuzzaman, 80, was a former News Editor of the vernacular daily Dainik Janakantha. He was also a News Editor of now defunct the Dainik Bangla.
He left behind wife, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Kabarstan mosque on Tajmahal road at Mohammadpur in the city after Asr prayers on Thursday. JPC President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and General Secretary Farida Yasmin have expressed deep shock at the death of Mezbahuzzaman.
