UNB, Savar :
Police arrested a journalist from Bipile in Ashulia area of Savar upazila on Friday night on charge of instigating unrest among readymade garment (RMG) workers. The arrestee was identified as Nazmul Huda, Savar correspondent of Ekushey TV and vernacular daily Bangladesh Pratidin.
Nazmul Hasan Firoz, assistant superintendent of police (ASP), Ashulia Circle, said a team of the law enforcers arrested Nazmul from the area at night. Police also seized his mobile phone, laptop and private car. Later, a case was filed with the police station under the Information and Communication Technology Act. A total 27 people have so been arrested
in connection with the recent unrest in the Ashulia RMG belt. Among them, 11 were shown arrested under the Special Power Act.
