Staff Reporter :Veteran Journalist Fauzul Karim (Tara Bhai) was laid to eternal rest at Mirpur Intellectual Graveyard on Wednesday evening.His Namaj-i-Janaza was held in a Mosque of Dhanmondi-7 after Magrib prayers. In the morning, his body was taken to his Dhanmondi residence from the Central Hospital where he breathed his last on Wednesday. He was 84. Different socio-cultural organisations and individuals mourned the death of Fauzul Karim, country’s one of the senior journalists.Kamal Uddin Sobuj, President and Abdal Ahmed, General Secretary of the National Press Club in a joint statement expressed deep shock at the death of Tara Bhai.Fauzul Karim was suffering from old age complications. He is survived by his wife, Nilufar Karim hosts of relatives and well-wishers.A lifetime member of the National Press Club, Fauzul Karim also did research on different aspects of Dhaka city. Fauzul Karim known to the journalists as Tara Bhai was born on November 27, 1930 at Baghbari village in Bogra district. He contributed to different fields of journalism. He was the news editor and then executive editor of the defunct Dainik Bangla. He started his profession as journalist with the Dainik Sangbad. He also worked with the erstwhile Dainik Pakistan for long. Fauzul Karim wrote a book on Photo Editing. He underwent training at Thomson Foundation in London.
