One follower of Awami League leader Dr Hasan Mahamud filed a case against the journalist Taufiqul Islam Babor under Section 57 of ICT Act.
The case was filed for publishing a news against Dr Hasan Mahamud accusing that his cadres were involved with the attack on BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s motorcade.
Sources said, Union Porishad Chairman Iqbal Hossain who was known as follower of Dr Hasan Mahamud filed a case with Rangunia thana against the journalist Taufiqul Islam Babor under section 57 of ICT Act.
Officer in Charge of Rangunia thana Mohammed Ahsanul Jader Bhuiyan said, Iqbal Hossain filed a case with Rangunia thana against the journalist Taufiqul Islam Babor under section 57 of ICT Act.”
It may be mentioned that journalist Taufiqul Islam Babor published a news at Daily Somokal in connection with the attack on BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s motorcade on June 18. In the news, Taufiqul Islam Babor wrote that BNP leaders alleged that cadres of Dr Hasan Mahamud were involved with the attack on BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s motorcade.
