The Jagannath University Teachers Association (JnUTA) formed a human chain in front of the university Shaheed Minar on Sunday to protest the murder of Professor Dr. AFM Rezaul Karim of Rajshahi University. They demanded the arrest of the professor’s killers immediately.
Condemning the brutal killing, the speakers of the programme said, “To smash the peaceful environment of the country and to stop the free thinking, the collaborators of anti-liberation forces are killing intellectuals one by one. Dr. Rezaul Karim was killed because of his progressive mentality.”
They demanded proper investigation into the murder for justice.
JnUTA President Professor Dr Kazi Saifuddin presided over while its General Secretary Professor Dr Nur-e-Alam Abdullah conducted the function.
Progressive Students Alliances, including Bangladesh Chhatra Union and Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, also condemned the murder of Razaul Karim.
The deceased was hacked to death by assailants at Shalbagan, Rajshahi around 7:40am on Saturday.
