Police arrested a suspected top leader of banned Islamic militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a house in Baganbari area of the city on Monday morning.
The arrested was identified as Ershad, 22, hailed from Dinajpur district.
Officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah Police Station Subir Das said on a tip-off, a team of police raided a house in the area and arrested Ershad around 7:30 am.
The law enforcers also recovered huge explosives, bomb-making materials and jihadi books from the house.
