Govt allocates 105.97cr for flood victims in 35 dists

 The Government has recently allocated Tk 105. 97 cr for the management of emergency relief programmes of the flood affected people of 35 districts.
Disaster Management Director General Riaz Ahmed said , the allocated money was distributed in the form of rice and dry food and cash assistance among the flood victims from 9 to 25 August in 35 districts of the country.
He said, the government will allocate more money according to the demands received from the concerned district administration.
 Along with financial support for the extensive relief activities, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has taken various steps to rehabilitate the flood affected people with the help of various ministries.
He said relief work will continue till flood water is depleted and he will be given relief and cash assistance for the next three months. Disaster Ministry sources said the government took necessary steps to revive the people affected by floods.
 According to the Ministry’s report, 81 lakh 77 thousand 135 people of 35 districts are affected by floods. And the total number of homes damaged by 54 thousand 701, partially damaged houses 6, 37, 622. In addition to the flood waters, 6 lakh 9 thousand 761 hectares of land has been submerged in the water.
The flood affected districts are Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Gaibandha, Bogra, Sirajganj, Kishoreganj, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Rangamati, Brahmanbaria, Faridpur, Rajbari, Jessore, Mymensingh, Tangail, Sylhet, Sherpur, Dhaka, Moulvibazar, Gopalganj, Comilla, Rangpur, Naogaon, Joypurhat, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Chandpur, Munshiganj, Natore, Manikganj and Jamalpur.
