JMB member gets 14 yrs imprisonment in Chapainawabganj

A Chapainawabganj court sentenced an active member of the banned Islamic militant out fit Jamaatul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) to 14 years rigorous imprisonment on Monday.
Judge of the Chapainawabganj Special Tribunal-2 Ziaur Rahman handed down the punishment.
The convicted person is Abdul Monib, 29, son of Ajmal Hoque of Koilardiar Sannyasi village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
According to the prosecution story, acting on secret information, a team of the special intelligence wing of police and Shibganj thana jointly raided the house of Abdul Monib on June 18, 2009 at night and arrested him from his sleeping room with a one shooter gun three rounds of bullet.
Later SI Mizanur Rahman filed a case with Shibganj thana under Arms Act and on July 8, 2009 SI Siddiqur Rahman gave charge sheet to the court.
After hearing the witnesses the court gave the verdict in presence of the convicted person.
