JL men held for damaging Bangabandhu’s portrait in Jessore

Awami League men handed over two activists of Juba League to police after picking up them from their residences at Nizampur under Sharsha upazila in Jessore on Friday for allegedly damaging the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Mohiuddim Mia, officer in-charge, Investigation of Sharsha police station confirmed the matter. .
Police and Awami League sources said, two activists of Juba League, youth wing of the ruling party – M Asad and Jafar Ali were picked up and then handed them over to Gorpara camp police as they were allegedly damaged photographs of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founder president of the country and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Nizampur union unit office of the ruling party in the morning.
The pictures were damaged over feud of two factions of the ruling party. Abul Kalam Azad, Cultural Affairs Secretary of Sharsha upazila unit AL have feud with Saidul Member, former organising secretary of Nizampur union unit Juba League.
