A local activist of Jubo League was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Kathaltala in Manirampur upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Shaheen, 35, an activist of Manirampur upazila unit of Jubo League, the youth wing of Awami League, and son of late Lutfur Rahman of Kashipur village in the upazila.
Khabir Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Manirampur Police Station, said a gang of miscreants waylaid Shaheen in the area around 2pm while he was returning home by a motorcycle.
The attackers then stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and took it to the police station.
However, the reason behind the killing could not be known yet.
