JICA allocates 585cr for CCC

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a Japan based organization on Wednesday has allocated Tk 585 crore to Chittagong city corporation ( CCC) for construction road, cyclone centre-cum school, bridge and overpass in the city corporation.
Of them implementation of 18 projects of taka 201 crore is expected to be completed by two years in the first phase. The Zakir Hussain Road, Agrabad Access Road, Port Connecting road and Airport will be developed under the project.
In this connection a coordination meeting was held among Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), Chittagong WASA, BTCL and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Ltd at CCC building yesterday.
Presided over by CCC Mayor, Monjur Alam, representatives of those organisations were present in the meeting.
Seeking cooperation, Manjur Alam said, CCC along with BTCL, WASA and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution have been working for the welfare of people of Chittagong and hoped that all organization would come forward to assist him in implementation of those projects properly.
Rashid Ahmed, Secretary of CCC, M Yakub Nabi and M Rafiquel Islam, Superintending Engineers of CCC, Architect AKM Rezaul Karim, Executive Engineer Monirul Huda, Abu Saleh, Shamsul Huda, Azaz Rasul, Chief Executive Engineers of WASA, AKM Nazrul Haque, Superintending Engineer of WASA, Engineer Dhurtaji Prashad Shah, Managing Director (Planning) of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd, Tamal Kanti Das, general manager of BTCL and Director Prabal Kumar Shil were present among others in the programme.
