Jhenaigati freed today ’71

Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district was freed today in 1971. On that day the people freed Jhenaigati defeating the occupation forces of Pakistan.
On March 27, 1971 Sherpur Sangram Parishad leaders Abdul Hamid, Mohshin Ali master and Amzad Ali came to Jhenaigati. They along with the then student leader Fakir Abdul Mannan met Abdul Hamid Naksi EPI Camp Commander and declared to save Jhenaigati from the occupation forces of Pakistan. They started a training camp at Rangtia.27 April, 2017 Pakistani occupation forces entered in Jhenaigati bazar. They set up camps in Shalchura ,Nakshi, Haldigram, Tawakucha and Mullah Para.
On 27 November, 1971 freedom fighters led by Jafar Ikbal attacked the occupation forces camp in Jhenaigati bazar and captured the camp. Hearing that, other occupation forces camp commanders started to retire.
Thus Jhenaigati was freed without shedding a drop of blood.
