A school teacher in Jhenaidah town school allegedly tortured a class eight boy with iron pipe as he attended the class without school dress on Sunday. The tortured boy is the son of Sariful Islam of Arappur in the town. The guardians of the boy brought the matter in to the notice of the school authority and other concern corners seeking justice of torturing the boy physically.
Shaheda Kahtun, mother of the class eight student Sadman Saif Saran said, Saran, a student of Jhenaidah Government High School was availing leave with the permission of his class teacher Palash Kumar. Later he went to school office to submit forms in the office.
Teacher Kamal Hossain is widely known for his torture on the minor students of the school even for a triffling matter, she added.
Assistant teacher of the school Kamal Hossain advised Saran to see him. As Saran appeared before him, Kamal Hossain started beating up the boy with iron pipe leaving him injured. He was treated with a private physician.
When contacted, the alleged teacher admitted the allegation and said, he had amicably settled the matter with the family members.
When contacted, head master of Jhenaidah Government High School Sunil Kumar Adhikary said, he had warned the teacher about the government policy not to torture any student in the school premises. The authority will take action against the teacher, Adhikary said.
