JETRO ink deal with BEPZA to set up leather plant at CEPZ

JB Networks Company Limited Japan will invest US$ 1.78 million to establish a leather products plant in Comilla EPZ, says a press release.
An agreement to this effect was signed between Sayed Nurul Islam, Member (Investment Promotion) of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and Fujikawa Masaru, Managing Director of JB Networks Co Ltd at BEPZA Complex in the city on Monday.
A 2350 square meter Standard Factory Building has been allocated by BEPZA for the company in accordance with the MoU between BEPZA and JETRO signed in Tokyo in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The company will produce 1 million pcs of different types of leather products annually. The products are Leather Strap, Grip, Camera Bags, Camera Lens Case, Leather Leash and different type of bags and collar etc.
Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman and Kei Kawano, Country Representative, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangladesh attended the signing ceremony.
Among others, Md Shawkat Nabi, Secretary, AZM Azizur Rahman, General Manager (Investment Promotion), Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) of BEPZA and Suzuki Mikio, Chief Executive Officer of JB Networks were present.
