Jessore outplay Mymensingh by 96 runs in Nat’l Cricket Champs

Jessore secured the 2nd straight victory in the 37th National Cricket Championship (NCC) beating Mymensingh district team by 96 runs in their Tier1 Group ‘A’ match at Shaheed Advocate Amin Uddin Stadium in Pabna on Wednesday.
Sent in to bat first, Jessore scored 274 for 8 in 50 overs where skipper Mustafizur Rahman Bashar (75) and Imranuzzaman Imran (60) fired half centuries. Abdulla Al Mamun Raju added 45 runs.
Hossain M Afzal and Shah Arfan Shakil bagged two wickets each for Mymensingh.
Mymensingh finished the innings at 178 for all in 40.4 overs with Arman Hussain top-scoring 68 runs while skipper 5 Rayhan Anas added 40 runs.
Lakamatuzzaman captured four wickets for 32 runs in 6.4 overs for the winners. Aminur Rahman, Shamim Sharif, Samser Alam Hira and Mustafizur Rahman Bashar (man of the match) took one wicket each.
Jessore started their group campaign with a 69-run victory against Satkhira district at the same on May 6.
Meanwhile, Magura district team tasted maiden win in their 2nd match of the championship as they managed one wicket victory against Munshiganj in their Group ‘B’ Tier1 battle at Gopalganj Stadium in Gopalganj.
Despite his side lost the match, Mehrab Hossain Joshy displayed an unbeaten innings of 113 off 103 balls, including nine boundaries and eight sixes, and was adjudged man of the match.
Magura chased down a target of 177 for 9 in 47.4 overs where Aslam Hossain (39), Shohanur Rahman (36), Foysal Hasan (30) and Mostofa Al Maruf (33) were the notable scorers for the side.
Ahmed Zaman bagged three wickets for 31 runs in 8 overs while Ishaq Mohammad, Shahadat Hossain and Jony Ahmed took two wickets each.
Sent in to bat first, Munshiganj scored 176 for 9 in 50 overs with Joshy’s century.
Talha Jubaer captured three wickets for 24 runs in 10 overs while Mazharul Islam Munna and Papai Siqdar took two wickets each.
Magura started their group campaign win a 6-wicket loss against Pabna district on May 7 while Munshiganj with a 5-wicket loss against Chittagong district team on May 6.
