ICT probe body to quiz Hannan, three others

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Wednesday allowed a prosecution plea seeking permission to interrogate four war crimes accused including Jatiya Party lawmaker from Mymensingh-7, MA Hannan.
Investigation agency of the ICT will interrogate Hannan, his son Rafik Sazzad, Khandaker Golam Sabbir and Mizanur Rahman Mintu at their Dhanmandi safe house in the city.
These four along with Md Hormuz Ali, 73, were arrested on October 1, hours after the tribunal had issued warrants against eight of them.
But Hormuz got injured in a road accident as police was bringing him from Mymensingh to Dhaka. He is now in Dhaka Medical College Hospital under police custody.
According to the prosecution, during the Great War of Liberation, Hannan established torture cells in his own home in Natun Bazar area of Mymensingh town and District Council Bungalow and confined, tortured and subsequently killed many innocent civilians with the help of his cronies.
They used to dump the bodies on the chars of Brahmaputra.
