UNB, Beanibazar :
Police on Saturday night arrested the district ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami for his alleged involvement in hartal violence from Upashohor area of the town.
The arrestee was identified as Prof Abdur Rashid, ameer of the district unit of the Islamist party.
Sub-inspector Miraz Mosaddeque of Upashohor police camp in-charge said Abdur Rashid was arrested from his residence in a violence case filed against him with Kotwali Police Station.
