Debi is a first film produced by Jaya Ahsan’s production house, C Te Cinema along with a grant from the Bangladesh government. Humayun Ahmed’s mystery novel Debi is going to come alive on the screen in the mid of October.
Part of the movie promotional campaign actress and producer Jaya Ahsan and other cast of the movie like Chanchal Chowdhury, Shabnam Faria walked along with 25 models nominated by the judge’s verdict, who selected from four thousand applicants for the Debi Moncho model hunt.
The show is organized by Bishwo Rang, Debi’s wardrobe partner. The judges of the Debi Moncho model hunt were Kazi Kamrul Islam, Asif Khan, Aupee Karim, Biplob Saha, Rukhsana Ali Hira, and Mili.
Debi Moncho model hunt organizer Biplob Saha in his speech said, “This is a new experience for me to introduce the concept of the promotion for the film in Bangladesh, I hope this kind of promotional campaign will lead movie industry in the future. It was a challenge for us to select 25 models among four thousand applicants for the show.”
In the show, Chanchal Chowdhury impressed viewers in hearing the dialogue of his character, Misir Ali.
Jaya Ahsan’s entry with Ranu’s melodramatic music was splendid. Producer and actress Jaya Ahsan walked on two queues in the show.
Jaya Ahsan’s mother Rehana Masud and sister Kanta Masud also attended the ceremony. They also walked on the ramp for the first time at the request of the presenter. Laboni played the role of Ranu in his childhood.
Whole arrangement was choreographed by Ivan Shahriar Sohag and Rizvi Hossain.
