A three day-long Jatiya Nazrul Sammelan in Nilphamari concluded on Saturday night coinciding with enchanting corus ‘Dao Shourja Dao Dhairja, Hey Udarna Dao Pran’ performed by renowned artists from Dhaka.
First part of the concluding session started at 3.30 pm on topic ‘ Bidrohi Kavi O Bangabandhu’ attended by Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor as Chief Guest while Nazrul researcher also Executive Director of Kabi Nazrul Institute was key speaker.
In his speech Asaduzzaman Noor said, “Bangabandhu and Nazrul both are poets as first one is poet of political art and second one is poet of literature and both taught us to stand beside oppressed people and resist the evils and communal forces.”
“The noble way, Bangabandhu and Nazrul followed should be practiced in the present context for building up a secular and exploitation free society,” he also said.
Noor informed the houseful audience that at keen interest of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, more branches of Nazrul institutes likely to be set up in different districts in phases.
At middle of the session, 50 young local artists who were trained Nazrul song from 17 to 21 April using perfect tune, rhythm, pronunciation by famous Nazrul singers were awarded.
Earlier, Nazrul researcher also executive director of Kavi Nazrul Institute Md Abdur Razzaque Bhuiyan delivered his observation on Nazrul and Bangabandhu as main speaker.
” Nazrul’s epoch making song ‘ Karar oi lauha kapat ‘ turned him as a legend and Bangabandhu used to mention verses from Nazrul songs and poems in his speeches,” Bhuiyan said.
Reflecting aspirations of crores of Bangalees, the then govt. arranged Nazrul and his family’s permanent abode here. The then Indian PM Indira Gandhi at the pressure of local laureates sent letter requesting to send back Nazrul to India which Bangabandhu ignored boldly, said he.
At fag end of the ceremony, famous singers from Dhaka like Khairul Anam Shakil, Kalpana Anam, Shahid Kabir Palash, Salauddin Ahmed and others rendered songs one after another on patriotism, love, nature, rebellion etc which spectators enjoyed spell bound as pin drop silence prevailed all around.
Shahadat Hossain Nipu recited Nazrul’s famous poem ‘Durgamgiri kantar moru, dustarra parapar–,making eyes of young and old glittering.
Dhaka Art Theater also staged Nazrul’s drama ‘Putuler Biye’amid big applause.
Deputy commissioner of Nilphamari presided over the ceremony while popular poet Rezauddin Stalin conducted the overall program.
Kabi Nazrul Institute under Cultural Ministry and district administration jointly organised the three days long ‘Jatiya Nazrul Sammelan successfully.
