A local Jubo Dal leader was hacked to death by the terrorists in broad daylight in Jashore district town on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Bodiuzzaman Dhoni, Senior Vice-President of Jashore district unit Jubo Dal, the youth wing of BNP.
The attack took place on Tuesday (July 12) at around 10 pm in front of his house near the Shankarpur Chopdarpara Akbar junction in the city. According to eye witnesses, four to five local terrorists, including Rayhan, Rahim, and Akash hacked Dhoni, the ex-president of Jashore district town Jubo Dal, in front of his residence near Shankerpur Chopdarpara Akbar intersection around 11:45 am, leaving him seriously injured.
Victim was rushed to Jashore General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The hospital’s surgery department physician Firoz Kabir confirmed his death to the media, adding, “He (Dhoni) died due to excessive bleeding.”
Kotwali Model Police Station Officer in-Charge Tajul Islam said that police started a drive to identify and detain people involved in the murder.
