“I’m very happy to receive this beautiful award. I was surprised and didn’t quite expect it. I even asked the committee to reconsider the honor. But I’m pleased to receive it,” said Ikee at the 2018 Asian Games Media Press Center, Jakarta Convention Center in Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
Ikee grabbed gold medals in the women’s 50-meter freestyle, 50 m backstroke, 50 m butterfly, 100 m butterfly, 4×100 m freestyle relay and 4×100 m medley relay events.
