Janmastami celebration from tomorrow

The members of the Hindu Community have chalked out a four-day long programmes to celebrate the Janmastami, marking the holy birth anniversary of the Lord Sri Krishna, in the port city and different parts of the district with due festivity, solemnity and enthusiasm.
A few leaders of the Sri Sri Janmastami Udjapon Parishad-Bangladesh (SJUPB) said apart from celebrating the festival, they have taken elaborate programmes on this occasion this year.
The 4-day programme series of Janmastami- also second biggest religious festival of Hindu community, will start from today(Saturday) through reciting the ‘Bhagabat Geeta’ and will continue till Sept 7.
SJUPB leaders said they chalked out the programmes which include colourful grand procession, amazing sportive events of Sri Krishna, congregation of hermits, saints and Vaishnava and offering of sankirtan, devotional songs and mother’s rally.
The people of the religion will bring out a grand jubilant procession from J M Sen Hall premises, the main venue of the festival at 10am.
