Janmashtami observed in Kishoreganj

The Hindu community observed Janmashtami, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Krishnain Kishoreganj on Monday with due religious fervour maintaining health guidelines and social distancing rules amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
According to Hindu religion, Lord Vishnu incarnated in the universe as Lord Krishna in the prison of Raja Kangsa on this day, the eighth of ‘Shukla Pakkha’ (bright fortnight) in the month of Bengali calendar Bhadra in Dwapara Yuga to protect religion and good spirit and punishing the evils.
Hindu Kallan Trust, a unit of Religious Ministry in Kishoreganj District Office arranged a virtual platform discussion marking the day.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam attended as chief guest while Hindu Kallan Trusti Advocate Bhuphendra Bhowmick presided over.
It was addressed among others by Additional SP Mustaque Sarker as special guest, Assistant Programme Director in Hindu Kallan Akram Hossain, Ex.Trusti Lipu Roy and journalist Prodeep Sarker.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said, “Sri Krishna was a symbol of humanity and social reformer whose main philosophy was to forge the bond of true love and harmony among people, removing injustice, repression, persecution and conflicts from society.”
“Communal harmony is our great heritage. We will have to keep intact the mutual amity and harmony with our united efforts,” Kishoreganj DC added.
