JANIPOP observes Rangpur by-poll

Jatiya Nirbachon Parjobekkhon Parishad (JANIPOP) observed the Rangpur by-election held on 5 this month at several voting centres with successful and peaceful manner. A total of 15 short term observers of JANIPOP noticed 20 EVM polling stations at Rangpur. Founder Chairman of JANIPOP Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah has coordinated and directed the By-Election observation-2019.
JANIPOP has observed that the law enforcement agency members including police, BGB and other members were present in the polls. Two army members (Technical) were deployed to provide technical support in every centre. Hence, the law and order of polling stations, local and national print and electronic media presence were satisfactory.
This by-election has been accomplished through EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) in all 175 polling stations. Presiding officer, assistant presiding officers and respective elections officials were being trained by the Bangladesh Election Commission before holding the by-election-2019. Voters did not face any hurdle to cast their vote by using EVM as they informed to the observers.
The overall condition of this by election and preparations of election commission were natural, well organized and satisfactory. The By-Election starts at 9.00 AM and ends at 5.00 PM. The by-election saw low voters turn out at morning but increased later. In light of overall observations, the By Election of Rangpur was free, fair, peaceful and neutral according to JANIPOP.
