Janipop announces month-long prog to observe Nat’l Mourning Day

Jatiyo Nirbachon Porjobekkhon Parishad (Janipop), a leading election monitoring organization in Bangladesh has announced to observe the National Mourning Day with month-long programs in August, the month of mourning. Janipop founder and Chairman Prof. Major Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalilullah, BNCCO inaugurated the month-long program virtually from the Janipop central office in the city on Sunday (August 1).
Prof. Kalimullah in his presidential speech in the discussion said, In the midst of the pandemic Covid-19, the mournful August has reappeared with agonised and tragic memories. On the night of 15 August 1975, the architect of Bangladesh and its independence Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his beloved family members were assassinated by a group of misguided army personnel and a vicious circle as well. Since then, the day has been known as the month of mourning for the most heinous and brutal massacre in the history of human civilization.
Dr. Kalimullah paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 46th martyrdom anniversary.
Even after killing the Father of the Nation, the assassins could not separate his condensed spirit from the Bengalis. As soon as August comes, millions of Bengalis remember Bangabandhu with grief, love and reverence, and place him in the core of their hearts, added Janipop Chairman.
Speakers attended the occasion said, Bangabandhu inspired the entire Bengali nation with sacrifice, struggle, heroic leadership, indomitable will, firm conviction, political foresight and ideology.
We, Janipop members, volunteers pay profound homage to this incontestable leader and pray for him and his martyred family for the eternal salvation to the Almighty.

Etrat Amin Kalimullah, Divisional Co-coordinator of Janipop Dr. Saber Ahmed Chowdhury, Secretary General Jalal Uddin Bhuinya, Treasurer Ashraf Uddin Ahmed, National Volunteers, Farrukh Khosru, Habibur Rahman, Ehteramul Hauque, Sajia Rahman Mou and Sumaiya Tahsin Hamida took part in the discussion.
