Janhvi Kapoor roped in by Anand L Rai for Kolamavu Kokila Hindi remake

It seems like Bollywood is flooded with South cinema remakes as one by one every single director and production houses are announcing remakes. Now, Anand L Rai has also joined the list and is all set to remake the 2018 Tamil hit, Kolamavu Kokila, which was originally directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
For this venture, Anand decided to appoint Siddharth Sengupta on the director seat who is known as an assistant director of Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Agneepath. For the leading lady, Anand cast Janhvi Kapoor in the film. In the original, South sensation Nayanthara portrays the role of Kokila.
According to the reports, Janhvi Kapoor will fly to Punjab on January 7, 2021, to commence its shoot.
More about the original film storyline then the film revolves around a girl named Kokila, who has financial issues, gets involved in a drug racket to earn quick money. Eventually, her family also gets dragged into the internal drug war which, in turn, puts their lives at risk.
A source close to the film development told a leading tabloid, “The film will be over in a single schedule of 45 days, which will need Janhvi and the rest of the cast to travel to different locations in the state. The decision to shoot in Punjab and the timeline was decided only few days back.”
