Jamalpur DC Kabir to be dismissed if found guilty: Cabinet secy

The former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jamalpur, accused of being in a compromising position with a female staff in a CCTV footage that went viral on social media, will be dismissed if the allegations are found to be true.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam made the remarks while briefing the media at Secretariat on Monday
Saying that a committee was formed to probe the allegations and there will be negligence in this regard, he added, “He might even be demoted.”

He has since been attached to the ministry as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Allegations of misuse of power and government assets have also been brought against Kabir.
Responding to queries on those allegations, Alam said, “If the probe committee finds anything related or something like this comes up then they can pursue that line of investigation.”
If anything is found to be true, it will be mentioned in the probe report but whether it will be made public remains to be seen, the cabinet secretary said.
After the video went viral, the government formed a five-member committee to probe the allegations that Kabir has categorically denied saying that the video was fabricated.
