Intelligence report said Jamaat and Chhatra Shibir activists may launch a new spate of violence in the country at selected government installations and other important places.
The report suggested that they are regrouping in the capital and elsewhere to start the mischief.
They may explode cocktails, petrol bombs and even more powerful bombs, resort to arson, vandalism and such other violent devices.
The report said the intelligence agency has recommended the authorities concerned to arrest the suspected elements and bring them to the book.
The agency has submitted the report to the Ministry of Home Affairs last week. In the report, the names of some suspects, their posts and positions, and addresses were included.
When contacted, police and RAB said, sensing about the indiscipline in the country they are on alert and ready to resist any turmoil.
On condition of anonymity, a high-ranking police official said that they were taking care of the matter and preparing to avoid any more sabotage. “We have already started to prepare a list of the anarchists”.
The sources said that the intelligence agency has also collected the names of targeted places and their leaders. They may target government institutions, police stations, power plants, railway lines and public and private vehicles. They have a plan to block roads and highways cutting down trees.
The intelligence agency alerted the home ministry to take precautious in those areas where Jamaat candidates may face defeat in the upcoming upazila polls.
