Jamaat man hacked to death in Moulvibazar

An activist of Jamaat-e-Islami was hacked to death by miscreants at Madhabkunda Bazar in Barlekha upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jalal Ahmad,33, son of Martuja Ali, a resident of BOC Khesrigul village of the same upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Barlekha Police Station Maniruzzaman said a group of miscreants picked up Jalal from Kathaltali Bazar at about 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
Later, they hacked him with sharp weapons indiscriminately and left him at Madhabkunda Bazar.
Informed, police rescued him and took him to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injures at about 9:30 am on Wednesday.
Jalal’s sister Manira Begum claimed that a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men picked up her brother and killed him. Jalal was wanted in a case filed for torching vehicles, the OC added.
