Jagonews24.com became champions in the Walton Smart Fridge-DRU Media Cup Football Tournament defeating GTV by three goals to nil in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday.
Moniruzzaman Uzzal of Jagonews hit a hat-trick and was adjudged the Man of the Final. Uzzal was the highest scorer of the football competition. He scored 10 goals. He was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
Jogonews, the champions of the football meet awarded Taka forty thousand, while GTV, the runners-up of the competition got Taka twenty thousand.
After the final match, Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abdus Salam Murshady, MP, distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and General Secretary of BFF Md Abu Nayeem Shohag were with him as special guests.
Vice-President of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Nazrul Kabir presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
