Jadu Miah’s 35th death anniversary today

The 35th death anniversary of former minister and former chairman of Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) Mashiur Rahman Jadu Miah is today (Wednesday). Bangladesh NAP will observe the day by holding different programmes. The Dhaka city unit of the party will hold a milad and doa mahfil at its office in the city to mark the occasion. Discussions and doa mahfil will also be held in different districts across the country. The party centrally will organise a discussion on the life and contributions of the late politician at the National Press Club tomorrow (Thursday). Jadu Miah was a cabinet minister during Ziaur Rahman’s regime. He played a vital role in the founding of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Later, he led the National Awami Party after the death of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani. He also played a vital role during Maulana Bhashani’s Farakka Long March in 1976.
