IUTA rejects UGC policy

Islamic University Teachers Association (IUTA), Kushtia rejected the unified policy proposed by the University Grant Commission (UGC) on Saturday regarding public university teacher’s appointment and promotion.
The organization rejected the UGC policy at a press conference held at the university teachers association of faculty building around 1:00pm.
IUTA president Prof Dr M Kamal Uddin presided over the conference conducted by its General Secretary Prof Dr M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan.
 Among others, IUTA joint secretary Prof Dr M Jahangir Hossain and members of the organization Prof Dr M Anowar Hossain, Prof Dr Maher Ali, Prof Dr Mahbubul Arfin and Joyosree Sen attended at the event with IU Journalist Association and IU Press Club.
While addressing at the conference IUTA General Secretary Prof Dr M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan read out a four point demands against the unified policy proposed by the UGC regarding public university teachers appointment and promotion which are came out from the general meeting of IU teachers association.
 The demands are- unanimously reject of formulation which inconsistent with autonomous body, to inform the integrated draft policies made by UGC to all public university teachers, conducting a unified introduction of the policy by coordinating with the teachers association of all different university and eliminate the inconsistence draft policies.
 Speaking at the conference IUTA leaders stated, Establishment of those UGC’s unified policy in the university is the conspiracy to destroy the higher education system and contrary to the honor of the university teachers.
 If any step doesn’t take to nullify such illegal and irrelevant policy, we will go for a great movement.
