Department of Social Science and Humanities of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organised a discussion event titled ‘Use of Imagery in Contemporary Bangla Prose Poetry’ at their premise recently. Among others Dr. Syed Manzoorul Islam, Profesor, Department of English, University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. Kaiser Hamidul Haq, Dean, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, and Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohantas, Project Director Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project, Ministry of Education took part in the discussion. Noted poets of contemporary Bengali literature recited poems at the event. Dr. Talim Hossain, Head of the Department of Social and Humanities gave vote of thanks while Professor M Omar Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, IUB, delivered his speech as the chair.
