Over 50 teachers of the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia formed a human chain on the campus demanding obliteration of UGC’s (University Grant Commission) unified policy on the recruitment and promotion of public university teachers on Wednesday. The chain was staged around 11:30 am in front of the Mrittunjoyee Mujib Mural of the university under the banner of ‘General Teachers of the Islamic University’
Speaking at the chain, speakers lauded, as the autonomous institution, unified policy proposed by UGC regarding university teachers appointment and promotion is the sheer dishonor with the status of the university teachers.
The demanded immediate ban of the ‘Black Policy’ which is being proposed in the name of Unified policy guideline.
