The Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia is set to observe the National Children’s Day and the 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17 in a befitting manner on the campus.
The university authority has chalked out elaborate programmes including joyous procession on the campus, placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, prize giving ceremony at Birsreshtha Hamidur Rahman auditorium, launching ‘Bangabandhu Corner’ at central library and offering a special prayer at the central mosque for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.
IU teachers, students and officials of the university along with VC Prof Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, Pro-VC Prof Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof Selim Toha, acting Registrar Abdul Latif will participate at the day-long programme on that day, said Professor Dr M Jahangir Hossain, convener of the national children’s day observing sub-committee.
