IU Prof Dr Azad passes away

Professor of Economics Department and former President of Zia Parishad of Islamic University, Kushtia Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad passed away on Sunday night.
He was 61. Dr. azad breathed his last at Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital in Kolkata, India after taking his first Chemo Therapy several days ago. He was suffered from blood cancer. He left behind wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives, admirers to mourn his death.
Later, he will be buried at his family graveyard in Meherpur.
Professor Dr. Azad joined IU Economics Department as lecturer in 1993. He served as the Chairman of Economics department and also the Dean of Humanities and Social Science faculty. He also served as the president of Zia Parishad, IU unit.
IU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari and Pro Vice Chacellor Prof. Dr M Shahinoor Rahman expressed their condolences over the demise of the veteran professor.
