The English Department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia will celebrate its Silver jubilee (25th anniversary) and alumni reunion programme on Friday. On the occasion, the department will hold a two-day programme with the slogan ‘Let’s Get Set for a Trip to Nostalgic’ on the campus. The programme will begin around 9am on Friday at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university, said Professor Dr AHM Aktarul Islam, Chairman of the department on Tuesday.
The two-day event will include a colourful rally, reminiscences, different games event for alumni and kids, formation of alumni association, raffle draw and cultural show.
The founder Chairman of English department Professor Dr M Mustafizur Rahman, former Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Faez Md Serajul Hoque, Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman are expected to attend the programme. Treasurer of the university Professor Dr M Selim Toha will be present as special guest on the occasion.
