To keep pace with the growing demand of international labour market, the government has taken lots of initiatives to develop skilled manpower. Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, MP said these while addressing as chief guest at the award giving ceremony of Bangladesh IT Talent Contest 2014 at DIU auditorium in the city recently.
Md. Sabur Khan, chairman of Daffodil Group and former President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsuyoshi Kano, Representative, JICA and Mr. Hiroyuki Minami, The Minister, The Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh were present as special guests in the program. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Executive Director, DIIT presided over the program.
Among others, Taro Okazaki, Managing Director of Bangla Business Partners, Japan, Rathindra Nath Das, Director of DIIT and Dr Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering of Daffodil International University also spoke on the occasion.
Md. Sabur Khan said, Bangladesh has lots of talented and skilled manpower; such type of contest will create immense opportunity for Bangladeshi people to get job opportunity in global market.
If our people could achieve the confidence level of Japanese employers, this will help to increase the job opportunity in other developed countries, he said.
Citing the success history of DIIT and role of preparing competent IT Graduates Md. Sabur Khan said, not a single graduate from DIIT are not unemployed, rather they are working leading positions in the renowned organizations like: UN Mission, UNDP, UNFP and many other national and multinational companies in home and abroad.
 It is here to mention that to create an employment opportunity in Japan and other development countries for the country’s young IT talent professional /students, Bangla Business Partner (BBP), Japan in association with Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) is going to organize the program.
