Ishwardi housewife killed over illegal transaction for job

The main reason for the murder of a housewife in Ishwardi is the transaction of money in the name of giving a job in the contractor of Rooppur Atomic Power Project. This information has been revealed in the confessional statement given in the court under section 164 and the police interrogation. Police have arrested three people on charges of involvement in the murder of housewife Mukti Khatun Rita, 27.
Pabna Senior Judicial Magistrate Amli-2 Magistrate Ashraful Islam recorded the confessional statements of two persons on Friday evening and one person on Saturday. Among the accused are Sharif Sarkar, 21, son of Mahabul Sarkar of Chargobindpur village in Baraigram upazila of Natore, Helal, 17, son of Kamal Sardar of the same village and Sabbir Sarkar, 28, son of Sadek Sarkar. Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman Asad confirmed the matter to the court.
The OC said the murder was a mystery at noon after the killings took place on Thursday, the killers were identified and police took to the field to arrest them. Police were able to arrest Sabbir Sarkar, Sharif and Helal, sons of Sadek Sarkar of Chargobindpur village of the main Baraigram police station, at night, based on the vague information given by the victim’s mother-in-law and the call list of the victim’s mobile. Police have confirmed the involvement of 4 people in the murder during interrogation and preliminary investigation.
Police are investigating the arrest of another accused as well as whether there is any fuel or incitement in the murder.
He further said that during the interrogation it was initially known that the murder had taken place in connection with the incident of money transaction for employment in Rooppur nuclear power project.
The knife used in the murder has been recovered from the place shown by Sabbir. He also said that the clothes of the accused were seized during the incident.
