Irregularities in distributing stipends Ministry forms probe body

Staff Reporter :The Primary and Mass Education Ministry assigned 10 of its officials to investigate the irregularities committed in distributing stipend at pre-primary and primary level. The ministry took the initiative in view of wide spread allegations against the teachers of 25 upazilas in 20 districts. The ministry asked the officials to submit the probe reports within 10 working days. Deputy Secretary KM Ruhul Amin will investigate the allegations at Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district, Nagarkanda of Faridpur and Bhedorganj of Shariatpur district. Deputy Secretary Nesar Uddin will work in Pirgachha and Badarganj of Rangpur district, and Roumari of Kurigram district, Deputy Secretary Gopal Chandra Das in Rupganj and Siddirganj of Narayanganj district and Gopalganj Sadar, Deputy Secretary Tanvir Ahmed in Belkuchi of Sirajganj, Deputy Secretary Satyakam Sen in Muradnagar and Nangolkot of Comilla district, and Akhaura and Bancharampur of Brahmanbaria district, Senior Assistant Secretary Rebeka Sultana in Dewanganj of Jamalpur district and Nagarpur of Tangail district, Senior Assistant Chief Mokhlesur Rahman in Bhaluka and Trishal of Mymensingh district and Madan upazila of Netrokona district, Assistant Secretary Rezaul Karim in Meherpur Sadar upazila, Assistant Secretary Mizanur Rahman in Morelganj of Bagerhat district, Accounts Officer Jakir Hossain in Bauphal of Patuakhali district, Kathalia of Jhalokathi district and Betagi of Barguna district, Statistics Officer Nasir Uddin Khan will investigate the irregularities in Tahirpur of Sunamganj district. It may be mentioned that there are 1,95,52,979 students in the primary level who get Tk 100 per month while 30,88,0460 students in pre-primary level get Tk 50 per month as stipend.
