IQAC experts meet DU VC

A three-member expert team of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) from Malaysia and Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman at his office of the university on Monday.
The team members were Professor Ahmad Shukri Yahaya, Professor Fauziah Ahmad of the University of Science, Malaysia and Professor STWS Yapa of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, said a DU press release here.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Notre Dame Professor Patrick Gaffney, Dean of the Faculty of Arts of DU Professor Abu Md Delwar Hossain, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Sadeka Halim, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Professor Md Imdadul Hoque, Additional Director of IQAC of DU Professors Md Rahmat Ullah and Mahbub Ahsan Khan and some other local experts from different public universities and Chairmen of various departments of DU were present, among others, on this occasion.
During the meeting they stressed the need for enhancement of quality of higher education.
Arrangement of professional training programmes on quality education, upgrading of academic curriculum and improvement of teaching methodology were also discussed at the meeting.
“DU authorities have been trying to produce skilled and global standard
graduates at the university,” the VC said.
He thanked the foreign experts for taking part in the IQAC review system
at DU.
