IO testifies in BUET student Abrar murder case

The Investigation Officer of the murder case of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad yesterday started giving deposition in a tribunal of Dhaka.
Md Wahiduzzaman, an Inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of police and Investigation Officer of the case, gave his statement in the tribunal on Sunday.

recorded the statement of Wahiduzzaman, the last prosecution witness in the case, for over three hours.
Since the Investigation Officer is yet to complete his deposition, the judge has fixed Monday for next hearing of the case. During yesterday’s hearing, the twenty-two accused who are now in jail, were produced in the tribunal. Earlier the tribunal recorded statements of 45 prosecution witnesses including complainant of the case.
The tribunal framed charges against 25 accused on September 15 last year.
Abrar, a second-year student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of BUET, died after he was brutally beaten allegedly by some Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men at the Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university in the early hours of October 7, 2019.
Later, his father filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station against 19 BCL leaders of BUET unit.
