To bring out the best programmers among the students of three campuses as well as to stimulate and motivate the students towards programming Daffodil International University Girls’ Computer Programming Club (DIU GCPC) in association with Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized ‘DIU Intra University Programming Contest 2019 (DIU IUPC 2019)’ on Friday.
A total 454 participants compete in the contest where 269 contestants were from main campus, 59 contestants were from Uttara Campus and 126 contestants were from Permanent campus. The ratios of the male and female participants were 76 pc and 24 pc respectively. The contest was held from 10:45am to 2:15 pm, the venue were main campus and permanent campus. Computer Scientist Prof Dr M Kaykobad, BUET and Dr Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of CSE visited the contest floor of both venues during the contest time and inspire the participants to problem solving.
The prize giving ceremony was held at 71 Milonayton of DIU where Shahriar Manzoor, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, South East University and judge of ACM-ICPC World Finals was present as chief guest. Prof Dr SM Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor, DIU, Prof Dr M Kaykobad, BUET were present there as guest of honor. Presided over by Prof Dr Syed Akter Hossain, Head of the Department of CSE, the program was also addressed by Hasna Hena, Senior Lecturer and Convener of GCPC, Shaiful Islam, Sr. Lecturer of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Tarif Ezaz, judging director of this contest.
Zakaria Hossain Foysal became champion in the programming contest and was awarded with DCL L-30 smart phone and champion trophy. Md. Raiyan Hossain and Md. Shah Habibul Imran became 1st and 2nd Runner Up.
Md. Abdur Rouf Nirob were awarded Best programmer with DCL L-30 smart phone and crest while Top girl programmer was awarded to Kaniz Fatema Meem, First Problem Solver, three top programmers each from individual campus were awarded with pen drive and 4th to 10th contestants were presented with laptop bag and crest. All participants were awarded with participatory certificates as well as top 10 contestants. All it gadgets were sponsored by Daffodil Computer Ltd (DCL).
