Int’l plot behind militancy: Moudud

BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said, there are international conspiracy behind recent target killing and the militancy in Bangladesh.
 “There is no way to deny the hand of international conspiracy behind the target killing and militancy in Bangladesh,” Moudud Ahmed said it while addressing a discussion meeting in National Press Club on Friday.
Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad (BSPP), a pro BNP organization for professionals, organised the meeting on the occasion of the `Black day for the media’.
The BNP standing committee member added that the government lacked honesty to suppress the militancy and that it alone couldn’t militancy from the country.
“RAB and Police have limitation of manpower. So, the government alone cannot stem militancy. It can be done by an elected and representative government only,” he said.
Moudud Ahmed also said that the government made a political blunder by looting the voting right of people.
He said, there is no democracy in Bangladesh, even after 45 years of independence. It is a sad news for the nation. The government not only made the Parliament inactive, it crippled country’s all the democratic institutions .
Shikkhok-Karmochary Oikkya Jote Chairman Principal Selim Bhuian presided over the meeting. BNP Senior-Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BSPP Member-Secretary Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Jahangir Nagar University’s Professor Dr. Muhammad Shamsul Alam Selim, DAB leader Dr. Mustak Rahim Swapan and Dr. Rafiqul Islam, among others, were present.
Meanwhile BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that the government had been trying to label the opposition party men as militants after arresting them. Rizvi said it in a separate discussion meeting organised by Democratic Movement at the same venue.
The Daily Naya Diganta Editor Alamgir Mohiuddin presided at the program. Swadhinata Forum President Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah, NAP Secretary General Golam Mustafa Bhuiyan and Kalyan Pary Secretary General Golam Aminur Rahman, among others, attended the discussion meeting.
