A three-day international conference on media and communication, hosted by Department of Communication and Journalism of Chittagong University began at the university campus on Tuesday. The theme of the conference is ‘Media, Communication and Journalism: Prospects and Challenges in Bangladesh and Beyond’, said a press release.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu attended the inaugural session of the conference as the chief guest at AK Khan Law Faculty Auditorium.
CU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury chaired the inaugural session while Bengali daily Dainik Azadi Editor MA Malek was the special guest.
University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan will attend as the chief guest in the closing session while CU Pro Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Shireen Akhter will be attending.
Western Marine Shipyard Ltd Managing Director Engr Md Sakhawat Hossain will be present as the special guest at the closing session to be held on Thursday afternoon.
