Int’l folk festival begins in city from tomorrow

A three-day ‘Dhaka International Folk Festival 2017’ will begin at Bangladesh Army Stadium in the city from tomorrow. Sun Communications Limited and Maasranga Television are jointly organising the event, Chairman of Sun Communication Ltd and also Managing Director of Maasranga Television (MD) Anjan Chowdhury disclosed this while addressing a press conference at The Westin Dhaka hotel in the city recently. A total of 140 folk artistes from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Iran, Brazil, Mali, Australia, France and Japan will perform the festival, he said.
Dhaka Bank Limited MD and CEO Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Ispahani Group Director Emad Ispahani and Green Delta Insurance MD and CEO Farzana Chowdhury were present at the press conference, among others.
Syed Mahbubur Rahman said like previous years visitors would be able to enjoy the festival through online registration at free of cost. People have to visit the website DHAKAINTERNATIONALFOLKFEST.COM for registration, Mahbub said, adding that national ID card, passport no or ID card of school and college will be required to complete the registration process. The Maasranga Television will telecast the event, he added.
