Int’l e-conference on emerging population issues held at DU

An international e-conference on emerging population issues was held on Dhaka University (DU) campus.
Population Sciences department of DU in association with UNFPA, Bangladesh organised the E-Conference from December 1 to December 2, said a press release.
DU Vice-Chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference on December 1 while Planning Minister M. A. Mannan attended the session as the chief guest, with Chairman of DU Population Sciences department Prof Dr Mohammad Mainul Islam in the chair.
Presenters from Bangladesh and other countries including India, China, and Australia presented 11 papers on different topics in five technical sessions.
Five technical sessions were on different topics which include “Human Capital Development and Demographic Dividend”, “Migration and Development”, “Active Aging and Wellbeing”, “Health System, Universal Health Coverage and SRHR”, and “Climate Change and Displacement Challenges”.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad and Dean of social sciences faculty Prof. Dr. Sadeka Halim attended the conference as special guests.
